History of Natural Remedies

Throughout history, various cultures used natural herbal remedies for animals and humans for wound treatments with examples like honey, aloe vera, and certain plant extracts, demonstrating their effectiveness in promoting healing and fighting infection.

Numerous ancient herbal remedies now serve as models for modern medicine.

 Ancient Practices

  • Aloe Vera: Aloe vera is known for its healing properties, has been used for burns, ulcers, and surgical wounds by Egyptians, Romans, and indigenous peoples of Africa, Asia, and the Americas for over 5,000 years.
  • Yarrow ; has a long history of  medicinal uses, Ancient Greece and Rome used it to treat wounds, reduce inflammation and to stop bleeding.
  • Plaintain ; A common weed  had many uses, from its antibacterial properties to its wound, healing and for stings and bites.

Specific Herbs and Their Uses:

  • Aloe Vera: Forms a protective coating on wounds, speeds up healing, and has anti-inflammatory activity.

Our Story

All Animals, whether Fury, Wooly, Feathery or Scaley

Our Story

Our story is one of compassion, dedication, and a deep love for animals. We are two long time friends, living in the rural southwest of Western Australia, We have always shared a life long passion for helping creatures in need. Our humble sanctuaries are safe havens for animals that have suffered misfortune, whether orphaned, a critter escaping predator but still receiving wounds, or an animal injured in a road accident, some are shot and left to suffer, or who get tangled in netting or fences. We even care for those who are simply old, sick, and those slightly disabled offering them a peaceful and safe place to live until it's their time to cross the rainbow bridge.

We are regularly visited by kind-hearted people who bring us animals they've found in distress, often when help is most urgently needed-late evenings, weekends, or public holidays. Being in a rural area, veterinary care is not always easily accessible, or they are very busy and can't fit you in straight away and unfortunately, most but not all veterinarians now only have time to help domestic animals whose owners can afford costly treatments. As a result, many animals would be left to suffer unnecessarily, and that's why we stepped in.

Although we are not veterinarians, lack surgical skills and can't prescribe synthetic medications, anaesthetics and diagnostic equipment, We have devoted ourselves to learning about the healing powers of nature. We also have a  background in making natural skincare products, which has helped with our journey. The world of herbs and natural remedies has been a critical part in us helping animals. We've had many successes in healing animals through the power of natural remedies. We grow many of our own herbs, fungi, and source from reputable Australian suppliers ensuring they are free from chemicals and toxins, so we can provide the best, most natural care possible.

In the past few years, however, we've seen a steady increase in the number of animals needing help, and the costs of feeding and caring for them—as well as the need for professional veterinary services-have nearly exhausted our personal funds. We don't receive any formal funding or donations and worry about not being able to continue helping those animals that no one else seems willing or able to assist.

In light of these challenges, some wildlife carers and friends who have benefited from our herbal products suggested we share our herbal creations with others. This idea has led us to offer our herbal remedies and products to others, so that the funds generated can go directly towards helping more critters and maintaining our sanctuaries

We are deeply grateful for any support we receive through the purchasing of our products, or simply spreading the word. Together, we can ensure that the animals in need have a chance at a better life. Every purchase makes a significant difference, and it will help us continue to provide the loving care, and healing that these precious creatures deserve.
